Unzen Jigoku
Very hot water with steam and sulfur spout out from about 30 blowholes. The temperature of the hot springs is over 100 and it runs 300 meters long. A tour in the Jigoku takes 30 minutes.Unzen Tourist Resource Center
They exhibit about 130 pieces of artistically crafted items and tourism related materials of Unzen and Obama. There are works of Kitamura Seibo, who made the Nagasaki Peace Statue. There are also Unzen- and Obama-style pottery and lithographs created by Siebold."Gensei-numa" swamp
This shows different scenery with swamp-grown plants of all four seasons. The swamp has been designated as "natural treasure" in Japan. You can see a lot of plants here, such as peat moss, sundew, Okinawa hay, the East Gentiana Hu, Cai Deng Drosera and so on. You can familiarize yourself with the nature, history, wild birds and plants of Unzen and Shimabara Peninsula here. On HDTV monitors, you can see the appearance of Heiseishinzan (Heisei New Mountain) in real-time. The SPA gives you a chance to relax in an aromatic bathtub made of "Yakusugi" cedar or "Sunaburo" (Sand Bath). This cedar bath is made of 2000-year old cedar. There is a glass gallery that exhibits 300 pieces of world glass handcraft of the 19th century.You can create your own original glass work there as well.
